Pete Bodo is off until Aug.12th, but life at TennisWorld goes on

Morning, all.  Rosangel and I will share Your Call duties in Pete's absence for a few days.

The US Open Series is slowly picking up speed: Andy Roddick made a successful return to the courts yesterday in Washington, and he plays Sam Querrey in R16 action today.  It'll be a useful barometer of both men's level - Querrey is fresh from the win in Indianapolis.

In the WTA yesterday, Sharapova held off Azarenka in the Battle of the Silent Sisters.  And one of Scandinavia's Finest, Caroline Wozniacki, went down to Sorana Cirstea in three sets.  Still, there's always Robin Soderling, who faces Marc Gicquel later today in Washington.
