Your Call, 9.13

Good morning, or good afternoon if youre in the European timezone. This is your regular space for discussing the tennis events of the day. Anyone with TV coverage would probably be gratefully received here, if able to give the rest of us a flavour of the Fed Cup final action between Spain and Russia. At the time of writing, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Carla Suarez Navarro are engaged in the first set of the second rubber.

Elsewhere, tennis has been going on in Bali and Bucharest. In Indonesia, Patty Schnyder and Tamira Paszek have respectively defeated Nadia Petrova and Daniela Hantuchova in the semifinals earlier today. In Romania, Carlos Moya has progressed to the final after a straight-sets victory over Richard Gasquet; Jose Acasuso and Gilles Simon are still locked in the third set of their semifinal. Moya has won at least one title in each of the past eight years, but has yet to secure one in 2008.

While on the subject of Señor Moya, the above picture was taken by TW regular skip1515, during his recent holiday. He says: "Carlos Moya, one of the most senior players on the ATP tour, isn't taking any chances with his future income. This recent photo of a tour bus in Gruyère, Switzerland, clearly indicates that Moya has developed a broad portfolio to safeguard his retirement from tennis."

Note: As always, "Your Call" is the daily thread specifically for the purpose of getting together on the cyber-sofa to discuss or call ongoing matches, or hot tennis topics of the day; it's the "Crisis Center" thread for those weeks when there are no Grand Slams, Masters, or Fed or Davis Cup in progress. You can go off-topic here if you like as well. This makes it easier for you to stay on-topic at "premium" posts. For going off-topic, you also have Monday Net Posts and Deuce Club on a regular basis.
