Your Call, 9.17

I have a cute little anecdote to pass on for all you Roger Federer fans, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. Meanwhile, the US Davis Cup had its pre-semifinal tie press conference in Madrid earlier today, and I want to throw one quote out there because it's pretty classic Andy Roddick. He was asked if he felt under more pressure now that the US squad has made two critical changes in the line-up the earned the Cup last fall with a win over Russia (Davis Cup rookie Sam Querrey has replaced James Blake in the singles line-up, and Mardy Fish is subbing for Bob Bryan, who's out with a bum shoulder). Roddick admitted that he's been the person least affected by the changes, explaining: "About the only thing that hasn't changed in the last week is that I need to win some singles matches. . .It's not all of a sudden I'm going to have to play Rafa. I've known that for months now." You wouldn't exactly describe that as galllows humor, but it's pretty close. More on the tie from me a little later in the day.
