Your Call, Overflow!

Larry's Half-Baked Theory of Evolution by Larry and Joyce Oates, of Benton City, Wash., won the first-place award in the sixth annual Baked, Mashed, or Fried art show at the Adam East Museum and Art Center in Moses Lake, Wash., Friday, Feb. 12, 1999. Hi everyone! Just wanted to create an overflow thread that should hold you over until Easy EdMcGrogan's Monday Net Post goes up. And how 'bout that Jelena Jankovic and David Nalbandian, bringing home the hardware in Moscow and Stockholm, respectively?

Nalbandian still has a way to go to duplicate his record of last fall, but he's obviously going into Madrid with plenty of confidence. He's lucky, and in a way he's got to be the guy in the best mental shape going into the home stretch, given his taste for indoor play and track record - plus he's on the verge of leading the Argentina team to a historic first Davis Cup win. I just wonder how that upcoming final tie is going to influence his thinking about the last two Masters Series events of the year.

And Jankovic? She made a big statement in Moscow, declaring that she's got no problem dealing with the pressure of being no. 1 (again) Call it a message in a bottle (of vodka) for her Serbian rival and former no. 1, Ana Ivanovic. That will make Zurich next week (both women are entered) especially interesting.
